Contribution

In order to make a private contribution, the contributor needs to select “Private” in the field “Visibility” located on the “Add Listing Screen”. When a contribution is private, it is visible only by the contributor. If the contributor wants to share his content with other members of Culture Gate then he must initialize the privateGroup formulation procedure.
When a member of Culture Gate wants to create a private group and share information, he communicates with platform moderators providing group’s description and members. Moderators approve his request and notify the content only within the scope of group members.

A contributor can always modify each contribution that he uploaded. Only logged in users can use this service. The user accesses the Cultural Map page and locates the section My Dashboard. There are 2 drop down fields. To modify a listing’s information the user must click the My Listings drop down field and then click again the Places input field. Then the user is redirected to All Places screen. This screen contains all the user’s listings. Each listing has a list of services. The user can click the Delete link and delete his contribution or the Edit link and redirect to the listing information screen. There he can modify every field of his contribution. The publishing procedure is similar to Add Listing.

Every member of the platform is allowed to upload cultural content. Guests of the platform, that do not wish to create an account cannot contribute content.

First of all you have to create an account and become a member of Culture Gate. Login to Culture Gate, visit the Members Area on the menu and navigate to Add Listing screen. Complete all required and optional fields, upload any multimedia content concerning your listing, accept our terms and conditions and submit your listing by clicking on the Review our Listing button. Then you will be redirected to Listing Preview screen where you can have a look of your contribution before publishing. Click the publish button on the right side of the screen and your contribution will be published on Culture Gate.

First of all you have to create an account and become a member of Culture Gate. Login to Culture Gate, visit the Events Calendar on the menu and navigate to Add Event screen. Complete all required and optional fields, upload any multimedia content concerning your event and submit it by clicking the Submit Event button. The system will inform you if the procedure was successful. The event will be published, after reviewed by our moderators.

Mobile Applications

When a user first opens CGC (Culture Gate Collector) he must register a new account. In order to create a new account click on the button “Sign Up”.

On the “Sign Up” screen, fill all the fields (email, username, password, discipline) and click the SIGN UP button. If the user filled all the necessary fields, then the procedure of registration has been successful and the new user is being redirected to Sign In page.

The user must fill the fields username and password and click the SIGN IN button. If the user gave the correct credentials he is being redirected to the “Functionality Board” screen.

From this screen the user chooses which functionality to use based on his location and clicks the appropriate button.

Every functionality uses the same screen structure. The user must fill the fields (Contribution Title, Description, Discipline). Then if he wants to take a picture he hits the “TAKE PICTURE” button, if he wants to record a video then the RECORD VIDEO button and if he needs to capture an audio file he must click the RECORD AUDIO button.

When everything has been done right, the user must click on the “SEND CULTURAL DATA” button and his contribution will be sent, immediately, to Culture Gate Web Server.

If the user wants to use the service again, he follows the same procedure. If he wants to use another functionality he must click on the back button located at the bottom right angle of the screen and he will be redirected to Functionality Board again.

Culture Gate Collector smartphone application can be installed in mobile devices like smartphones and tablets that run Android operating system.

In order to be able to install this application you should turn on the feature “Unknown Source” (enable app installation for unknown sources) from Settings > Security section.

Afterwards visit the page Mobile Services, from your Android device. At the end of this page you can click on the Download button and application’s apk file will be downloaded and installed in your device.

When the procedure terminates, a new icon called Culture Gate Collector will appear on your screen.
